The Colorado Rockies and third baseman Nolan Arenado avoided arbitration by agreeing to a r one-year, $26,000,000 contract.

The $26,000,000 is a new arbitration-eligible record, topping the $22,000,000 that Josh Donaldson received in his final year of arbitration with Toronto.

It’s nearly a $10,000,000 raise on the $17.75 million he made in 2018.

The big question now is whether the Colorado and the 27-year-old can come to an agreement on a long-term deal before he hits free agency after the 2019 season.
