Los Angeles Angels young star Shoehei Ohtani has won the AL Rookie of the Year Award.
The Baseball Writers Association of America gave Ohtani 22 votes, compared to Miguel Andujar’s five votes and Gleyber Torres’ zero.
Ohtani finished the season batting .285/.361/.564 with 22 home runs and 61 RBI. Pitching wise he had an ERA of 3.31 with a 4-2 record along with 63 strikeouts.
The 24-year-old from Japan signed a 1-year, $2,315,000 contract with the Angels in December, 2017.
