Week ten in the NFL provides fans with many pivotal matchups for standings and some must-watch gritty games. Check out the breakdowns, betting odds, and predictions for each outing.
Carolina Panthers (6-2) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2-1) (Thursday Night)
- Time/Venue:Â 8:20 PM, Heinz Field
- Moneyline:Â PIT -205, CAR +175
- Spread:Â PIT -4 (-112), CAR +4 (-108)
- Over/Under:Â O 51.5 (-112), U 51.5 (-108)
- Spread Consensus:Â 58% CAR +4
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 69% O 51.5
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â PIT 29.2 – CAR 20.1
- Record Against the Spread:Â PIT (5-2-1), CAR (5-3)
Pick – Steelers
Two of the hottest teams in the league right now trending in the upward direction. Carolina has won three in a row while Pittsburgh is at four in a row. Both clubs are very similar, but the Steelers offense is ranked 6th while Carolina’s ranks 16th. This will be a very important factor and could very well be the difference maker. Both defenses are solid, so every offensive factor will count and the Steelers slightly outweigh Carolina.
Detroit Lions (3-5) @ Chicago Bears (5-3)
- Time/Venue:Â 1:00 PM, Soldier Field
- Moneyline:Â CHI -275, DET +230
- Spread:Â CHI -6.5 (-115), DET +6.5 (-105)
- Over/Under:Â O 45 (+100), U 45 (-120)
- Spread Consensus:Â 60% CHI -6.5
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 66% O 45
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â CHI 34.6 – DET 12.8
- Record Against the Spread:Â CHI (5-3), DET (5-3)
Pick – Bears
Detroit is a mess right now and they cannot protect QB Matt Stafford. They gave up ten sacks last week to Minnesota, and this is good news for Chicago’s defense that is tied seventh in the league in sacks with 24. Chicago may not have the prettiest offense at times, but they get the job done at the end of the day. Chicago will stay in first at the top of the AFC North after this one.
New Orleans Saints (7-1) @ Cincinnati Bengals (5-3)
- Time/Venue:Â 1:00 PM, Paul Brown Stadium
- Moneyline:Â NO -247, CIN +207
- Spread:Â NO -5 (-113), CIN +5 (-107)
- Over/Under:Â O 54 (-105), U 54 (-115)
- Spread Consensus:Â 69% NO -5
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 69% O 54
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â NO 33.8 – CIN 23.2
- Record Against the Spread:Â NO (6-2), CIN (4-4)
Pick – Saints
No one has been able to stop the Saints powerful offense. They have too many weapons and way too much firepower. They’ve also had doubts getting wins on the road in recent history, but that’s no longer a factor as they’re 4-0 away thus far. Both teams have poor defenses, but Cincinnati is dead last. In another game that could come to who scores the most in a shootout, the Saints have proved throughout the season that they’ll win that style of battle.
Atlanta Falcons (4-4) @ Cleveland Browns (2-6-1)
- Time/Venue:Â 1:00 PM, FirstEnergy Stadium
- Moneyline:Â ATL -215, CLE +185
- Spread:Â ATL -4.5 (-110), CLE +4.5 (-110)
- Over/Under:Â O 50.5 (-110), U 50.5 (-110)
- Spread Consensus:Â 71% ATL -4.5
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 61% O 50.5
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â ATL 31.2 – CLE 25.6
- Record Against the Spread:Â ATL (3-5), CLE (5-4)
Pick – Falcons
Cleveland has now dropped four straight and they’re taking on a Falcons team that needs wins in the NFC South or possible Wild Card standings. Atlanta is much better than their 4-4 record shows as they’ve let a few games slip away in the final moments. The Falcons will beat up a confusing Browns ball club.
New England Patriots (7-2) @ Tennessee Titans (4-4)
- Time/Venue:Â 1:00 PM, Nissan Stadium
- Moneyline:Â NE -275, TEN +230
- Spread:Â NE 6.5 (-112), TEN +6.5 (-108)
- Over/Under:Â O 46.5 (-105), 46.5 (-115)
- Spread Consensus:Â 69% NE -605
- Over/Under Consensus: 78% O 46.5
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â NE 27.4 – TEN 18.8
- Record Against the Spread:Â NE (6-3), TEN (5-3)
Pick – Patriots
The Patriots look like they want to make it back to the Super Bowl and they won’t let anyone get in their way. Tennessee has showed poor efforts throughout the season on offense, and they’re ranked 30th in the league. Get ready for what could be another New England blowout.
Jacksonville Jaguars (3-5) @ Indianapolis Colts (3-5)
- Time/Venue:Â 1:00 PM, Lucas Oil Stadium
- Moneyline:Â IND -145, JAC +125
- Spread:Â IND -3 (+103), JAC +3 (-123)
- Over/Under:Â O 47 (-105), U 47 (-115)
- Spread Consensus:Â 52% IND -3
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 53% U 47
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â IND 29.2 – JAC 17.2
- Record Against the Spread:Â IND (4-4), JAC (3-5)
Pick – Colts
Indianapolis is coming off of a bye week after they beat up the Bills and Raiders totaling 79 points scored. Jacksonville’s defense was their strong suit coming into the season, but they’ve allowed 28.5 points per game in their last four outings, and they were all losses. Another big factor will be the Colts’ running game which ranks 12th compared to Jacksonville’s 24th ranked run defense.
Arizona Cardinals (2-6) @ Kansas City Chiefs (8-1)
- Time/Venue:Â 1:00 PM, Arrowhead Stadium
- Moneyline:Â N/A
- Spread:Â KC -16.5 (-102), ARI +16.5 (-118)
- Over/Under:Â O 50 (-110), U 50 (-110)
- Spread Consensus:Â 59% KC -16.5
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 64% O 49.5
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â KC 39.4 – ARI 9.0
- Record Against the Spread:Â KC (8-1), ARI (4-3-1)
Pick – Chiefs
This could get ugly early and often for Arizona. The spread for this one shows what everyone expects in this game, a blowout. The environment of Arrowhead Stadium could also put some fear into Cardinals rookie QB Josh Rosen’s heart. Expect a one sided affair in this match.
Buffalo Bills (2-7) @ New York Jets (2-6)
- Time/Venue:Â 1:00 PM, MetLife Stadium
- Moneyline:Â NYJ -350, BUF +290
- Spread:Â NYJ -7.5 (-105), BUF +7.5 (-115)
- Over/Under:Â O 37 (-110), U 37 (-110)
- Spread Consensus:Â 58% BUF +7.5
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 50-50
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â NYJ 26.0 – BUF 9.8
- Record Against the Spread:Â NYJ (3-6), BUF (2-6)
Pick – Jets
The Bills are starting turnover machine QB Nathan Peterman, which feeds right into the Jets’ defense who play much nastier on their home field. Both teams are similar otherwise, but the Jets are the more talented team overall and will take care of business.
Washington Redskins (5-3) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5)
- Time/Venue:Â 1:00 PM, Raymond James Stadium
- Moneyline:Â TB -155, WAS +135
- Spread:Â TB -3 (-108), WAS +3 (-112)
- Over/Under:Â O 51.5 (-114), U 51.5 (-106)
- Spread Consensus:Â 51% WAS +3
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 70% O 51.5
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â WAS 26.0 – TB 26.8
- Record Against the Spread: WAS (5-3), TB (3-5)
Pick – Buccaneers
The Buccaneers have a ton of offensive talent, and they’ll use all of it against Washington at home. Although Washington’s run defense ranks 5th, they’re pass defense ranks 20th. This bodes well for Fitzpatrick and his variety of weapons for the Bucs receiving corps. The Redskins’ specialty is running the ball, and if this can be stopped early Washington will have problems throughout the day.
Los Angeles Chargers (6-2) @ Oakland Raiders (1-7)
- Time/Venue:Â 4:05 PM, Oakland Coliseum
- Moneyline:Â LAC -500, OAK +405
- Spread:Â LAC -10 (-110), OAK +10 (-110)
- Over/Under:Â O 50 (-105), U 50 (-115)
- Spread Consensus:Â 68% LAC -10
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 63% U 50
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â LAC 34.1 – OAK 15.7
- Record Against the Spread:Â LAC (4-4), OAK (2-6)
Pick – Chargers
There’s not much to say about Oakland besides the fact that they’re horrible. LA however looks great still and they’re rolling winning five straight games. The Chargers already beat them in week five 26 – 10, and a similar result will happen again on Sunday.
Miami Dolphins (5-4) @ Green Bay Packers (3-4-1)
- Time/Venue:Â 4:25 PM, Lambeau Field
- Moneyline:Â GB -450, MIA +375
- Spread:Â GB -10 (-105), MIA +10 (-115)
- Over/Under:Â O 47.5 (-108), U 47.5 (-112)
- Spread Consensus:Â 67% GB -10
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 60% O 47.5
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â GB 33.1 – MIA 13.1
- Record Against the Spread:Â GB (3-5), MIA (5-4)
Pick – Packers
Green Bay needs this win in the worst way. If they don’t come out as victors, swirling news will once again arise around the Packers organization saying coaches, front office team, etc. is on the hot seat. They know it’ll come if they don’t win on Sunday, and they’re very aware of it. Miami has lost four of their last six games after starting 3-0 and simply don’t look like a good ball club.
Seattle Seahawks (4-4) @ Los Angeles Rams (8-1)
- Time/Venue:Â 4:25 PM, Los Angeles Coliseum
- Moneyline:Â LAR -430, SEA +360
- Spread:Â LAR -10 (+100), SEA +10 (-120)
- Over/Under:Â O 51 (-105), U 51 (-115)
- Spread Consensus:Â 55% SEA +10
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 67% O 51
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â LAR 32.0 – SEA 19.3
- Record Against the Spread:Â LAR (4-4-1), SEA (4-3-1)
Pick – Rams
LA suffered their first loss of the season last week to the Saints, and they’ll take their frustrations on Seattle on their home turf. Their previous battle in week five was close with the Rams winning 33 – 31. This could very well be another close outing between divisional rivalries, but the Rams are the much better team.
Dallas Cowboys (3-5) @ Philadelphia Eagles (4-4)
- Time/Venue:Â 8:20 PM, Lincoln Financial Field
- Moneyline:Â PHI -285, DAL +240
- Spread:Â PHI -6.5 (-115), DAL +6.5 (-105)
- Over/Under:Â O 43 (-105), U 43.5 (-115)
- Spread Consensus:Â 64% PHI -6.5
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 77% O 43
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â PHI 31.8 – DAL 12.1
- Record Against the Spread:Â PHI (3-5), DAL (3-5)
Pick – Eagles
Dallas is finding ways to lose to good teams, and their three wins aren’t against very impressive opponents. Their offensive line looks bad compared to recent years, and they’ve allowed 28 sacks to opponents, ranking them sixth in the NFL. Philadelphia is coming off of a bye week, and they’ve just acquired another weapon in WR Golden Tate. Philly will take care of Dallas on their home field in a must-win divisional matchup to keep their playoff hopes alive.
New York Giants (1-7) @ San Francisco 49ers (2-7) (Monday Night)
- Time/Venue:Â 8:15 PM, Levi’s Stadium
- Moneyline:Â SF -155, NYG +135
- Spread:Â SF -3 (-110), NYG +3 (-110)
- Over/Under:Â O 43.5 (-115), U 43.5 (-105)
- Spread Consensus:Â 57% SF -3
- Over/Under Consensus:Â 74% O 44
- Odds Shark Predicted Score:Â SF 31.3 – NYG 14.8
- Record Against the Spread:Â SF (3-6), NYG (3-5)
Pick – 49ers
The 49ers are 2-7, but they think they’ve found a spark in rookie QB Nick Mullens, who ignited San Francisco to a 34 – 3 spanking of Oakland. The Niners have also showed that they can run the ball well, and they’re ranked 4th in the league in that category facing the Giants’ 23rd ranked run defense. The Giants can also never seem to get anything going, especially because they can’t run the ball. A fueled 49ers team and stadium will help them defeat the Giants on Monday night.
Bye: Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings
