Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will be out the remainder of the season.
This is bad news for the defending champion Eagles as they’re now without their #1 back, and also without LaGarrette Blount who is now playing with the Detroit Lions.
This also hurts Ajayi’s offseason, as he’s becoming an unrestricted free agent after the year. The 25-year old will be looking for a big payday because he’s still on his 4-year, $2,500,813 rookie contract.
For fantasy owners, look into 2nd and 3rd string backs Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement to temporarily fill the void.
