The Washington Redskins have signed 33-year-old running back Adrian Peterson to a 1-year contract.

This helps fill the void at the running back position for the Redskins, who lost  Derrius Guice (ACL), Samaje Perine (ankle) and Byron Marshall (ankle).

Peterson ran for 3.4 yards per carry and 52.9 yards per game last season with the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints.

The All-Pro back has a career earnings of  $98,208,319 from NFL contracts in 11 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, and New Orleans Saints.
