Nuggets to Decline Nikola Jokic’s Team Option

Gina Mizell of the Denver Post has reported that the Denver Nuggets are set to decline Nikola Jokic’s $1.66 million team option.

Declining the option will make Jokic a restricted free agent, allowing him to be eligible for a maximum-salary contract this summer.

Jokic averaged 18.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 6.1 assists in his third year with the Nuggets. The 23-year-old franchise big-man will be eligible to sign a five-year, $146.45 million deal.
