Red Sox infielder Trevor Story has been diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his right wrist and will be shut down from swinging for 10-to-14 days.Â
Story has been sidelined since mid-July after being hit by a pitch on his right wrist.
The 29-year-old was hitting .221/..289/.423 with 15 homers, 58 RBI, and 49 runs scored across 81 games this season.
Boston manager Alex Cora told reporters on Saturday that Christian Arroyo will get the bulk of the playing time in Story’s absence.
