According to ESPN, the Cincinnati Reds are “full steam ahead in the process of trading” starting pitcher Luis Castillo.
With the trade deadline looming, Castillo figures to be the most sought out pitcher on the market.
He just earn the victory last night against the Miami Marlins, throwing for eight strikeouts across seven innings pitched.
Castillo now has an impressive 2.86 ERA across the 2022 season with 90 strikeouts in 85 innings pitched.
The 29-year-old is rumored to be connected to both the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers according to NBC Sports.
After earning a salary of $7,350,000 this season, Castillo will have another arbitration year in 2023 before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2024.
