Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger will begin a minor league rehab assignment Friday with High-A Everett.
The plan is for the 31-year-old to remain with Everett through the weekend, before likely advancing to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.
Haniger has been out since April with a high ankle sprain, and he’s only appeared in just nine games this season with Seattle.
However, the veteran could return at some time next month for his surging Mariners who went on a 14-game winning streak before the All-Star break.
