The Cincinnati Reds activated catcher Tyler Stephenson from 10-day injured list Saturday to face the Rays.
Stephenson has been sidelined for a month with a fractured right thumb, but he returns to the lineup this afternoon.
The 25-year-old was playing very solid before his injury, and he was slashing .305/.361/.468 with 21 runs scored, 31 RBI, and five homers.
Stephenson was also carrying an OPS of .829 in 155 plate appearances in his third season in the majors.
Look for the sprouting catcher to pick up where he left off as he returns to Cincinaati’s lineup.
