The New York Yankees activated pitcher Aroldis Chapman from the 15-day injured list.
Chapman ended up missing five-and-a-half weeks due to left Achilles tendinitis.
The 34-year-old’s pitched in 17 games this season, totaling 14.0 innings pitched, 15 strikeouts, and nine saves.
Although Chapman’s back from the IL, relief pitcher Clay Holmes will likely continue to remain as the Yankees closer for the time being, especially with his successful 14 saves and low 0.49 ERA on the season.
