George Springer sidelined Saturday in Milwaukee

Sportsnet

George Springer remains sidelined from the Blue Jays starting lineup for Saturday’s game against the Brewers.

It looks like Springer will miss his third consecutive game due to right elbow discomfort.

Although the 32-year-old was able to attend batting practice Friday, he was unavailable to pinch-hit later on.

It’s unclear whether he’ll be able to pinch hit Saturday against the Brewers as well.

Springer’s posted nice numbers in his second season with Toronto, slashing .260/.333/.489 with 13 homers, 34 RBI, 40 runs, and six steals.

He’s been able to avoid the injured list so far, so the issue with his right elbow could be minor.

The good news for the Blue Jays is that Alejandro Kirk is back in starting lineup for Saturday’s showdown against Milwaukee.
