The Cincinnati Reds placed catcher Tyler Stephenson on the 10-day injured list with a fractured right thumb.
The 25-year-old is expected to miss four to six weeks of action with the diagnosis.
Stephenson’s 2022 season started off well, as he was batting .305/.361/.468 with 21 runs scored and 31 RBI.
Aramis Garcia will likely see most of the playing time behind the plate with Stephenson out, and Chris Okey could help out as well.
