The Cleveland Browns signed Denzel Ward to a five-year, $100.5 million contract making him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history.
The extension includes $71.25 million guaranteed.
Ward was originally selected by the Browns in 2018 as the fourth overall pick.
The 24-year-old has emerged as a top defensive back in Cleveland’s defense over his first four seasons, and he’s also helped out in the run coverage category as well.
Ward’s accumulated 186 career tackles, 50 passes defended, 10 interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns with the Browns.
The 2x Pro-Bowler is now signed through his age-30 season.
