Chicago White Sox infielder Yoán Moncada has been placed on the 10-day injury list with a right oblique strain.
Moncada was scratched from Tuesday’s Cactus League game with a minor side issue, but it seems like he’ll need some additional time off to get back to the lineup.Â
The 26-year-old out of Cuba struggled throughout 2022 Spring Training, hitting .121/.143/.121 across 35 plate appearances.
Moncada will most likely continue his success from 2021 when healthy, where he posted 14 home runs and 61 RBI in 144 games.
Chicago opens the season on Friday in a four-game road series against the Detroit Tigers.
