Cleveland signs Jose Ramirez to a $124M extension

Associated Press

The Cleveland Guardians signed third baseman Jose Ramirez to a five-year, $124 million contract extension.

The deal includes $150M guaranteed with a full no-trade clause and will run through the 2028 season.

This is the highest-paid contract that Cleveland has ever signed to a player.

Ramirez has spent his entire nine-year career in Cleveland, and he’s been named an All-Star in 2017, 2018, and 2021.

The 29-year-old out of the Dominican Republic slashed .266/.355/.538 last season to go along with 36 home runs, 103 RBI, 111 runs, and 27 stolen bases.
