Toronto Raptors All-Star point guard Fred VanVleet practiced fully on Tuesday and is expected to play Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs.
VanVleet has been sidelined for five straight games right a sore knee but is on track to make his return on the road in San Antonio.
Prior to the injury, VanVleet was averaging 21.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.9 assists in 52 games.
The 28-year-old is also leading the league in minutes per game at 38.2, so head coach Nick Nurse could decrease his time on the floor and ease him back into game action.
Toronto is currently seventh in the Eastern Conference with a 34-30 record heading into Wednesday night’s matchup.
