Denver Broncos general manager George Paton wants to have running back Melvin Gordon back for the upcoming 2022 season.
Paton said, “I’ve had really good discussions with Melvin. I’d like to have him back.â€
With that being said, Gordon finished his two-year, $16 million contract in 2021 and is a pending free agent.
Soon to be 29-years-old, Gordon has a lot left in the tank and he proved it last season with the Broncos.
He ran for 918 yards on 4.5 yards per attempt and eight touchdowns while splitting the backfield with Javonte Williams.
Gordon also had 28 receptions for an additional 213 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Denver may night have the cash that Gordon is looking for as an older back, so he may have to join a new club to earn the money he deserves.
