According to Cleveland Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, forward Lauri Markkanen was “looking good” in practice Wednesday.
However, he didn’t specify if Markkanen would be able to play Thursday against the Detroit Pistons.
Either way, it looks like the 24-year-old will soon make his return to the floor after missing the last 11 games with a sprained ankle.
It’ll be interesting to see what Bickerstaff does with the rotation with Markkanen returning to the lineup.
The Cavs have already shifted things with the acquisition of Caris LeVert, and Markkanen returning could complicate things further.
However, Cleveland is currently fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 35-23 record.
Markkanen is averaging 13.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in 38 games played this season.
*UPDATE*
Markkanen is probable to play in Thursday’s game against the Pistons.
