Kristaps Porzingis traded to Washington for Spencer Dinwiddie

USA Today

The Dallas Mavericks have traded Kristaps Porzingis for the Washington Wizards for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans in an odd move.

This move doesn’t quite make much sense, but the deal is done.

The Wizards are loaded with big men including now acquired Porzingis, Kyle Kuzma, Daniel Gafford, and Thomas Bryant.

Even after Bradley Beal has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, Washington has oddly decided to let go guard Spencer Dinwiddie.

Dinwiddie is averaging 12.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game this season, but it’s unclear how much time he’ll spend on the floor with Luka Doncic and the emerging Jalen Brunson.

Porzingis is in his third year of his five-year, $158,253,000 contract signed in 2019.
