Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Marcus Mariota has taken a pay cut to remain a member of the team.
Mariota’s base salary has been lowered significantly from $10.625 million to $3.5 million.
However, he can still possibly earn an additional $4.5 million through incentives, but he’d likely have to become the starter in order to do so.
The 27-year-old played well in starting QB Derek Carr’s absence when he went out with a leg injury, but he’ll likely remain the backup as long as Carr is healthy.
Mariota will become an unrestricted free agent after the 2021 season.
