Houston Texans disgruntled quarterback Deshaun Watson could lose over $20 million if he opts to sit out the 2021 season.
The dollar amount adds up to nearly $20.2 million if he chooses to skip mandatory minicamp, training camp, and the entire season.
Drama continues between the Texans organization and Watson, who’s requested a trade from the team multiple occasions this offseason.
Unfortunately, his four-year $156 million contract extension that he signed with Houston in September of 2020 included a no-trade clause.
The 25-year-old has a business decision to make as soon as possible, and if he shows up next season as a Texan in a poor mood it will certainly result in losses for the team.
Overall, it sounds like a lose-lose situation if Watson is on Houston’s roster in 2021.
