According to ESPN, the NBA is planning to stage the Slam Dunk Contest during halftime of the All-Star game.
This is strange coming from the league, who’ve traditionally had the dunk contest, three-point shootout, and skills challenges on a separate night before the All-Star game.

Players are expected to arrive Saturday March 6 and stay in private accommodations, then leave immediately after the game on Sunday.
