According to the Athletic, the Los Angeles Angels are set to acquire starting pitcher Alex Cobb from the Baltimore Orioles.
Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that there’s “a lot left that needs to happen” before the deal becomes official.
That being said, there’s nothing reported that will be exchange for Cobb, who’s owed $15 million on the final year of his contract.
The 33-year-old pitched a high 4.30 ERA last season with a 2-5 record.
Since joining Baltimore in 2018, Cobb has a horrendous 7-22 record as a starter.
Hopefully new scenery will help Cobb focus and be the pitcher we saw when he was a member of the Tampa Bay Rays.
