The Detroit Tigers have officially signed catcher Wilson Ramos to a one-year, two million contract.
The deal was reported earlier this week, and now has been made official.
Ramos struggled at the plate last season, hitting .239/.297/.387 as a member of the New York Mets.
His defensive abilities were also in issue with the 33-year-old.
However, Detroit signing him on a flyer one-year contract isn’t a bad business move, especially with the lack of talent in the catcher position throughout the league.
