Starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez has agreed to a one-year, $8.3 million contract with the Red Sox to avoid arbitration.
It’s the same deal he signed last season after losing an arbitration hearing with Boston.
Rodriguez didn’t pitch in the 2020 season after being diagnosed with an inflammatory heart condition called myocarditis following a COVID-19 diagnosis.
However, he’s expected be fully healthy for the start of 2021.
Rodriguez will be a free agent at the end of the upcoming season.
