The New Orleans Pelicans have given Brandon Ingram a 5-year, $158 million maximum contract extension.
This was expected from New Orleans, especially with new head coach Stan Van Gundy wanting Ingram to be the main focus of the offense.
With Jrue Holiday being shipped to Milwaukee, Ingram will take control of ball handling duties with Lonzo Ball.
Ingram averaged 23.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists last season, earning him the Most Improved Player award.
The 23-year-old should be considered a first/second pick in upcoming fantasy basketball drafts.
