DeMar DeRozan opts into $27.7M player option

USA Today Sports

San Antonio Spurs guard/forward DeMar DeRozan opted into his $27.7 million player option for 2020-21.

The move was expected by DeRozan since he wouldn’t have seen this much money if he tested the free agent market.

There was recent rumors that the Lakers were pursuing DeRozan, but they may not be able to handle three huge contracts between him, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis.

If the Spurs are considering a rebuild, DeRozan could be moved to another contender in the near future.
