Marcus Stroman takes $18.9M qualifying offer from the Mets

Starting pitcher Marcus Stroman has accepted a one-year, $18.9 million qualifying offer from the New York Mets.

The offer is very substantial for Stroman, especially after not playing at all in 2020 with a calf injury and COVID-19 opt out.

Stroman, now 29-years-old had a 3.22 ERA pitching for the Blue Jays and Mets in 2019.
