The Miami Marlins have exercised outfielder Starling Marte’s $12.5 million club option for the 2021 season.
Marte was very solid last season slashing .281/.340/.430 with six home runs, 27 RBI, 10 steals, and 36 runs in 61 games with Arizona and Miami last season.
The 32-year-old should have a normal role in the rotation next season.
Marlins CEO Derek Jeter earlier stated that they would pick up Marte’s option, so the move comes as no surprise.
Marte is a solid player to have in a fantasy league, as he posts numbers in multiple statistical categories.
