The Washington Capitals agreed to a four-year, $15.6 million contract with defenseman Brenden Dillion.
Dillon had one goal with 14 points in 69 games last season while averaging 19:27 minutes on ice.
The 29-year-old completed his five-year, $16.35 million contract he signed with the Sharks, and he would have become a free agent on Friday.
