The St. Louis Cardinals and 1B Paul Goldschmidt are nearing a 5-year, $130 million contract extension.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the deal will be finalized by Saturday pending a physical.

Goldschmidt was acquired by the Cardinals in a deal with the Diamondbacks previously this past winter.

Goldschmidt’s adjusted salary this season will now be $15,500,000
