The Chicago Cubs have exercised their $10.5 million club option on starting pitcher Jose Quintana for 2019.

Although Quintana had a sub-par season with a 13-11 record with a 4.03 ERA, Quintana has too much ability for Chicago to let him walk.

The 29-year-old from Colombia has earned $26,530,000 in seven career seasons with the White Sox and Cubs.
