The Boston Red Sox have acquired second baseman Ian Kinsler from the Los Angeles Angels for prospects Williams Jerez and Ty Buttrey.
Kinsler is not hitting well this season with a slash line of .239/.304/.406, but a change of scenery in a high-powered offense could give him a boost.
The Angels will cover half of the $3.6 million Kinsler is still owed for the rest of the season, stemming from an original base salary of $11 million.
Kinsler has a career earnings of $103,497,708 in his 12-year career from MLB contracts with the Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers, LA Angels, and Boston Red Sox.
