White Sox starting pitcher Johnny Cueto is scheduled to start on Thursday against the Guardians after being sidelined with an illness.
Cueto was unable to start the past weekend with the illness, but he’s listed as Chicago’s starter for Thursday.
The 36-year-old has played well this season, and he’s compiled a 3.09 ERA, 1.203 WHIP, and 88 strikeouts across 22 games.
The White Sox are 7-3 in their last 10 games, and they’re battling for a playoff spot coming down the last stretch of the season.
Chicago will need as much help as possible heading into a division rival series against Cleveland beginning Tuesday.
