The New York Yankees activated relief pitcher Clay Holmes from the 15-day injured list following back tightness.
Holmes will re-join the club after missing nearly two weeks of action with the lingering injury.
It’s likely that the 29-year-old will continue to pick up the closer role, especially with Aroldis Chapman sidelined with an injury.
Holmes has compiled 17 out of 22 save opportunities throughout this season with a 2.39 ERA and 1.02 WHIP.
The Yankees are 5-5 in their last 10 games, and they’ll need as much bullpen help as they can moving forward.
