The Seattle Mariners acquired Carlos Santana and cash from the Kansas City Royals for pitchers Wyatt Mills and William Fleming.
Seattle is clearly looking for infield help, especially with Ty France landing on the injury list with a left elbow strain.
Santana is batting .216/.349/.341 with four home runs and 21 RBI across 212 plate appearances across the 2022 season.
The 36-year-old veteran is earning a base salary of $10,500,000 this season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2023.
