Bryce Harper is out of the Phillies starting lineup for Saturday’s game against the Nationals due to a blister on his left hand.
Apparently the injury flared up overnight and may have gotten infected.
It doesn’t seem like the injury will keep Harper out for too long, especially with Philly not placing him on an injury list.
The 29-year-old 2021 NL MVP is on another tear this season, batting .326/.391/.622 with 15 home runs, 48 runs scored, 48 RBI, and eight steals across 60 contests.
NBC reported that Harper’s taking antibiotics for the issue, but things should become more clear during the Phillies broadcast during the game this afternoon in Washington.
