The Los Angeles Angels announced Friday that Anthony Rendon will undergo season-ending surgery to repair his right wrist.
Unfortunate news for the Angels, Rendon, and fantasy managers.
The 32-year-old was on the third year of his $245,000,000 contract signed in 2019 with the ball club.
Rendon finishes his 2022 season batting .228/.324/.383 with five home runs, 24 RBI, two steals and a 32/23 K/BB ratio over 188 plate appearances in 45 games.
Infielder Matt Duffy should continue to see time in the Rendon’s absence for the near future.
On Tuesday, Rendon was removed from the game against the Dodgers with the lingering wrist issue.
