Kansas City Royals pitcher Zack Greinke will start a minor league rehab assignment on Sunday with Triple-A Omaha.
Although he’s scheduled for his assignment, it’s unclear how many games Greinke will need before re-joining Kansas City.
The 38-year-old has been dealing with a right flexor strain that’s kept him sidelined throughout the month.
Greinke’s started 10 games for the Royals this season. compiling an underwhelming 0-4 record with a 5.05 ERA.
Back in March, Kansas City signed him to a one-year, $13,000,000 contract for the 2022 season.
