According to NBC Sports, the Los Angeles Lakers are hoping that Doc Rivers becomes available to be their next head coach.
Interesting news, especially with the Lakers previously mentioned to narrow their head coaching vacancy down to three finalists.
Clearly Los Angeles doesn’t have their mind made up on which direction to choose from, and they’re staring down a path of another disappointing season with their roster getting older and older.
Hanging out hope for Doc Rivers seems a bit desperate, especially with him coaching his way to losing playoff series left and right in most recent years including this season.
After losing to Miami in the second-round of the playoffs, Sixers GM Daryl Morey stated the Rivers would return to coach the Sixers next season.
We’ll see how things end up, but nothing is set in stone for what’s to come this offseason.
