The Texas Rangers placed starting pitcher Jon Gray on the 10-day injured list with a right middle finger blister.
Gray was removed from his Opening Day start against Toronto for precautionary reasons after throwing 70 pitches across four innings for four strikeouts, two walks, and three earned runs.
There isn’t a clear timetable for his return, but the injury could keep the 30-year-old out for Texas’ next two series against the Rockies and Angels.
Gray signed a four-year, $56 million contract with the Rangers in November of 2021 after spending his first seven years in Colorado.
