Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Wade Miley will be shut down for 10 days after an MRI showed inflammation in his left elbow.
Miley was also battling a neck ailment but now he’s got an elbow injury to deal with.
The 35-year-old was at least cleared of any structural damage, and the hope is that he’ll be able to resume throwing in mid-April.
Miley posted a 3.37 ERA with the Reds last season for 125 strikeouts with a 12-7 record.
The Cubs now have a short-term hole to fill in the pitching rotation with Miley sidelined.
