San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler said Wednesday that Evan Longoria projects to miss around six weeks.
Longoria underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a ligament in his right index finger, and now it’s looking like the 36-year-old will be out at least until May.
In 2021, Longoria slashed .261/.351/.482 to go along with 13 home runs, 46 RBI, and 45 runs.
Wilmer Flores could likely serve as the Giants every day third baseman as long as Longoria is sidelined.
