New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson is not expected to return this season according to the Athletic.
No surprise here, as New Orleans will keep their best asset healthy and not risk further injury.
Williamson underwent offseason surgery in September of 2021 to repair his broken foot, and it looks like he won’t return until next season.
Last year, multiple reports came out about the 21-year-old being unhappy with the Pelicans, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens this upcoming offseason.
In October 2021, New Orleans exercised a $13,534,817 club option for Williamson from his original four-year, $44,271,137 rookie contract.
