The Colorado Rockies and talented infielder Ryan McMahon have agreed to a six-year, $70 million contract extension.
McMahon was originally scheduled to become a free agent after the 2023 season.
The long-term extension for the 27-year-old out of California cancels his final two arbitration-eligible seasons and four additional free agent years.
McMahon has been solid for Colorado in all of his five seasons spent with the team, and he posted a .254/.331/.449 slash line last year with 23 homers, 86 RBI, and 80 runs.
