Cleveland Cavaliers first-time All-Star center Jarrett Allen is out indefinitely after suffering a fractured finger.
Allen left Sunday’s game against the Raptors after getting kneed in the left quad, but now he’s dealing with a fractured finger that will require further evaluation.
This is a blow for the Cavs, who started off hot in the midst of this season but are now 4-6 in their last 10 games.
Allen was averaging a double-double with 16.1 points and 10.8 rebounds per game shooting 67.7% from the field.
Cedi Osman started the second half in Allen’s place, but it’s unclear which direction the team will go for the near future to replace a defensive anchor in Allen.
Big men Evan Mobley and Lauri Markkanen will have to step up without the 23-year-old in the lineup.
Cleveland is still fighting for playoff positioning, and they’re currently sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 37-27 record.
