The Boston Red Sox signed 29-year-old third baseman Yolmer Sanchez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Sanchez spent the 2021 season with the Braves’ Triple A affiliate Gwinnett Stripers after spending his first seven seasons with the White Sox.
As a member of the Stripers, he posted a slash line of .216/.309/.352 in 102 games.
Sanchez has showed to be a versatile defender throughout his career, but it could be difficult to join a competitive Boston roster.
The Red Sox also added Roldani Baldwin and Roberto Ramos the camp list as non-roster invitees.
Sanchez has 32 home runs, 215 RBI, and .245 batting average in his first seven major league seasons in Chicago.
