Kansas City Royals have officially signed infielder Hunter Dozier to a four-year, $25 million contract extension.
The deal begins this upcoming season, and includes a $10 million club option for the 2025 season.
According to Jeff Passasn of ESPN, the contract could max out to be $49 million if the option is exercised and he hits all incentives.
Dozier posted a below average .228/.344/.392 slash line in 2020, but his numbers were better in 2019 and the Royals must see potential from that.
The 29-year-old is now signed for all of his arbitration seasons and possibly his first two years off free agency.
