The Arizona Cardinals signed J.J. Watt to a two-year, $31 million contract.
The deal includes $23 million in guarantees.
Arizona was never considered a target for Watt this free agency over the Packers and Browns, but flying under the radar was the smart move for the team.
The soon to be 32-year-old played in all 16 games last season for Houston, and posted 52 tackles, 17 QB hits, 5.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Former Texans teammate DeAndre Hopkins posted on his Instagram last week recruiting Watt to the team: “Let’s finish what we started.”
If the Cardinals re-sign linebacker Haasan Reddick, they’ll have a top tier pass rush alongside Watt and linebacker Chandler Jones for the near future.
